Clarkeprint Limited started trading August 1982, starting life as a small family business employing four members of staff. Originally the Company was located in a small factory unit in Smethwick, providing high quality typesetting, artwork and printing services to a range of public and private sector companies.

1986
After four years steady growth we re-located to our present premises near to the centre of Birmingham. Additional space allowed for continued investment in both people and capital equipment.

1992
As technology moved on and due to the reduction in the complexity of manufacturing print, trends changed towards greater use of colour. During the early ‘90’s Clarkeprint embraced the amazing potential of the Apple Macintosh and almost overnight the approach to page make-up changed. Colour printing almost became the norm. Clarkeprint was at the forefront of this continuing development.

1997
Investment in multi-colour printing machines soon followed and in 1997 high quality digital printing was added to our portfolio of services.

2001
During 2001, two of the founder members of the Company retired and Robert Dalby (the current MD) joined the company.

2003
The advent of the internet in the early years of the century defined a new era for all businesses. Print, once the only option for distribution of visual communication had a new medium with which to compete. Clarkeprint saw the internet as an opportunity, the widespread adoption of broadband facilitated the easy communication between businesses and consumer alike.

2008 to 2010 and onwards
Throughout the first decade of the 21st Century, we have followed a program of careful investment in highly productive state of the art litho equipment, workflow solutions and digital print technology. Our most recent purchase in Q3 2009 of a Kodak NexPress 2500 has complemented by the very latest online ecommerce solution in Q3 2010.
